The WVU football program has now made their interest in four-star linebacker Christian Thatcher known with an offer.

Thatcher, a class of 2025 recruit out of Arbor View High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, announced he received an offer from West Virginia on Tuesday. He’s regarded as one of the top Nevada prospects in his class.

According to Thatcher, his offer came after a conversation with WVU Director of Recruiting Trey Neyer. Thatcher is ranked as the number 5 class of 2025 player in Nevada by both 247 Sports and Rivals. 247 also has him as the number 21 linebacker in the country.

It’s not exactly common for West Virginia to recruit in Nevada, as most their efforts are placed on the eastern or southern parts of the country, but Thatcher would be one of the highest ranked linebackers ever acquired by the Mountaineers.

Most of Thatchers main offers from schools besides WVU are closer to him, most notably from Arizona, Arizona State, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, UNLV and Utah. For what it’s worth, he is currently projected to commit to the Sooners.
