Despite the uncertainty about the future of the WVU football staff, West Virginia still sent a notable offer to a transfer player when the portal officially opened on Monday. WVU extended an offer to Cincinnati transfer cornerback Kalen Carroll.

Carroll, who made his intentions to enter the transfer portal known in early December, finished the 2024 season with 19 total tackles, two tackles for a loss and a pass deflection. He collected 12 tackles in eight games in 2023.

Offering a player with Power Four and Big 12 experience like Carroll makes sense no matter what the coaching staff looks like since the secondary was WVUโ€™s weakest unit during the 2024 season.

Carroll has two more years of eligibility remaining in his college career.
