WVU jumped all over a transfer edge rusher soon after the transfer portal opened. Coastal Carolina transfer linebackers Clev Lubin revealed the Mountaineers were one of the first programs to send him an offer on Monday.

Lubin, who has two more years left of eligibility, announced his decision to transfer on Dec. 2. Virginia Tech was the only school to offer Lubin before WVU.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Lubin recorded 43 total tackles, 9.5 sacks and three pass deflections during the 2024 regular season. Prior to his lone season Coastal Carolina, Lubin spent a year at a community college and a redshirt year at Army.

In addition to WVU, other major conference programs like Auburn, Cal, Georgia Tech, Houston, Michigan State, Minnesota and Mississippi State extended offers to Lubin.

Lubin was the Gatorade New York State Player of the Year as a senior at Suffern Senior High School in Seffern, N.Y.
