West Virginia’s Wesley Harris received a public reprimand for throwing a punch at a Texas Tech University fan storming the court on Saturday evening. Texas Tech has received a $25,000 fine for letting the students and fan base storm the court.
There is no internal discipline from Bob Huggins as far as Harris sitting out tonight’s game or if he will play limited minutes.
This leads to the debate of how dangerous storming the court really is for fan bases and players. Look to the future to see what the NCAA will do going forward on whether or not they will stop fanbases from storming the court to keep people safe or if they will continue to allow it. There is no excuse for Harris’ actions, but, running into players that are emotionally drained from a hard fought game will cause confrontations between players and fans.
