Portsmouth Invitational

West Virginia’s leading scorer Erik Stevenson has been invited to play in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament next week. Stevenson will play in front of professional scouts.

The Portsmouth Invitational is an annual event that includes 64 college seniors to play in tournament-style competition. The PIT is from April 12-15 in Portsmouth, VA.

Stevenson averaged 15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists through 34 games. Stevenson helped lead West Virginia back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in two seasons. The fifth-year senior played his best towards the end of the year, recording five-straight 20-point-plus games at the end of February.

Last year, former WVU G Taz Sherman participated in the PIT event. Sherman received many workouts last summer and was selected in the NBA G-League draft by the Long Island Nets.
