WVU HC Darian DeVries reacted to his team’s third-straight win on Thursday, defeating Stella#EBK 107-53. DeVries’ son, Tucker, led the way for the Mountaineers with a game-high 26 points, which all came in the first half.

“I thought we played pretty well tonight. We had the tour today, visiting the Coliseum so I was a little worried where our legs were at. I thought our mindset again was great. I loved the way we came out and were moving the ball. I thought offensively was one of the better nights. We were able to get different guys going at different times. What I loved about is our team recognized that and find the hot guy,” DeVries said. “Again, got a lot of guys in the game, which is great.”

“This whole trip has been a valuable experience. We’ve been able to apply what we have been doing for the past eight weeks and seeing it against somebody else in another uniform. This has been a great trip, just an awesome experience all the way around,” DeVries continued.

West Virginia shot 51.3% from the field and secured 54 rebounds in the win. The Mountaineers also made 18 three-point field goals against Stella#EBK. Other team stats include 26 assists, 19 steals and 18 offensive rebounds.

In the first game, West Virginia defeated BC Zalgiris Kaunas 78-53 on Saturday. The Mountaineers were highlighted by forward Amani Hansberry, who recorded a double-double. Jonathan Powell’s 24 points helped WVU defeat Orange1 Basket Bassano, 110-66, on Tuesday.

WVU will wrap up its time in Italy on Saturday and return home for the fall semester.

There was not a way to stream the game but the program did open practice to the media a couple of weeks ago. Click here to watch some practice clips from that day.
