WVU HC Darian DeVries recapped his team’s second foreign tour game on Tuesday, as the Mountaineers defeated Orange1 Basket Bassano, 110-66.

“Yeah, it was good. I thought we did a nice job correcting some of the things we talked about from the first game. [Saturday] we had 22 turnovers, this game I believe we were around nine, which is great. I thought they did a much better job of taking care of it there,” DeVries said. “Overall, I liked our defensive intensity especially when we got settled into the game. Again it took us a few minutes which would be expected after a couple days of walking around the city.”

“Loved how we shared the ball, love how we’re playing together, playing connected. Got a lot of guys a lot of minutes again, which is terrific. Trying to make the most of all three of these games and get as many guys that valuable time is a great advantage of having a trip like this. Overall, very pleased, happy and ready to move onto the next spot,” DeVries continued.

WVU freshman Jonathan Powell led the way for the Mountaineers finishing with 24 points, five rebounds and three steals. Powell was 1-of-6 Mountaineers to reach double figures in points.

DeVries sent out a different starting lineup on Tuesday, inserting Eduardo Andre (C) and Sencire Harris (G) for Amani Hansberry and Jayden Stone, who both started on Saturday.

In the first game, West Virginia defeated BC Zalgiris Kaunas 78-53 in Italy. The Mountaineers were highlighted by forward Amani Hansberry, who recorded a double-double.

West Virginia now travels to Rome for its final foreign tour game on Thursday. WVU and Stella#EBK will tipoff at noon EST.

There was not a way to stream the game but the program did open practice to the media a couple of weeks ago. Click here to watch some practice clips from that day.
