During the first round of the NCAA Tournament, West Virginia and Maryland will tipoff at 12:15 p.m. on CBS in the 8/9 matchup in Birmingham, Al. The winner will most likely face No. 1 Alabama on Saturday.

Jim Nantz, Bill Raftery, Grant Hill and Tracy Wolfson will be calling and reporting the game for CBS.

“I think obviously [the players] are excited to play. I never had any doubt that we wouldn’t play in the tournament. I thought we were getting better and better,” WVU HC Bob Huggins said.

West Virginia enters the NCAA Tournament 19-14 with seven Big 12 wins. Maryland finished with a 21-12 record under first-year head coach Kevin Willard.

WVU returns to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021, where the Mountaineers reached the round of 32.
