WVU guards RaeQuan Battle and Noah Farrakhan are officially safe to play the remainder of the season without the fear of losing eligibility. West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced on Monday afternoon that the judge has signed the order which saves the now-eligible players from burning their eligibility during the temporary restraining order against the NCAA.

Morrisey wrote the following on X (Twitter):

“Our preliminary victory is now official.

The judge has signed the order ensuring that RaeQuan Battle, Noah Farrakhan, and all athletes impacted by the temporary restraining order issued last week will be able to play basketball without fear of repercussions through the end of the season.

The incredible win for RaeQuan, Noah, and all impacted athletes is greatly appreciated. Special thanks go to [Ohio AG] Dave Yost, our bipartisan coalition of states, and Rocky Gianola, who represented RaeQuan. Our case will continue but at least our athletes will be able to play with peace of mind.”

Battle has transferred multiple times as an undergraduate student-athlete and was not a grad transfer after his summer session. Battle transferred from Montana State this April after averaging 17.7 points on 47% shooting for the Bobcats. Battle led Montana State to the NCAA Tournament, giving 3-seed Kansas State a game in the first round. Battle and the Bobcats fell short but the current Mountaineer scored a game-high 27 points.

Farrakhan appeared in 31 games for Eastern Michigan last season, averaging 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Farrakhan shot 43% from the field and 24% from three. He recorded 14 games of 20 points or more during his EMU career. Farrakhan scored 19 points, six rebounds and three assists against Michigan in Nov. 2022.

Farrakhan made his WVU debut on Saturday against UMass, scoring 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting with four assists. Battle is expected to make his debut vs. Radford on Wednesday.
