West Virginia big man Jesse Edwards will be off the floor for approximately four weeks due to a fractured right wrist, the basketball program announced on Monday. Edwards will have surgery this week.

Edwards injured his wrist on Saturday in a loss to UMass. During the game, Edwards had his right wrist taped up. Edwards struggled on Saturday versus UMass big Josh Cohen but West Virginia missed his presence for a good portion of the game.

“It hurt not having Jesse out there and that injury to the wrist scares me,” Eilert said on Saturday. “I’m praying that he’s healthy.”

Edwards is averaging 14.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks through 10 games of play. Edwards has started in all contests for the Mountaineers during his fifth season.
