WVU’s Derek Culver Named to Naismith Trophy Midseason Team
Derek Culver continues to generate national attention during his standout season for West Virginia.
The junior forward was named to the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team, WVU announced Thursday. Earlier this month, Culver was also named to the Wooden Award Top 25 Midseason List.

Culver is the Mountaineers’ second-leading scorer this season, averaging 14.3 points per game. He is the Big 12’s leading rebounder, averaging 10.2, also leading the conference with nine double-doubles.
Other Big 12players to be named to this Naismith Trophy Midseason Team are Jared Butler (Baylor), Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma State), Mac McClung (Texas Tech) and Davion Mitchell (Baylor).
