2024 3-Star TE Jack Sammarco Commits to West Virginia

The WVU football program’s newfound interest in utilizing the tight end position in the passing game has led to earning a commitment from three-star recruit Jack Sammarco. He tweeted that he is now fully committed to West Virginia on Thursday afternoon.
Sammarco, a class of 2024 product, is listed at 6-foot-6 and 242 pounds and considered a top 50 recruit in Ohio and a top 100 tight end nationally by most outlets. He currently attends Anderson High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Mountaineers sent Sammarco an offer just two weeks ago on May 2. He is scheduled to take an official visit to Morgantown on June 9-11, but decided he didn’t need to wait to commit.

After bringing in transfer Kole Taylor and hiring Blaine Stewart, West Virginia has made it known they are looking to utilize tight ends in the passing game more than in the recent past. Offering Sammarco fits that mentality into the future as well.
Sammarco picked WVU over offers from Akron, Army, Bowling Green, Connecticut, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami (OH), Montana State, Toledo and Western Michigan. Cincinnati, Duke, Iowa State, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, Penn State, Pitt, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are some other schools who also showed interest in Sammarco.
