2026 3-Star Ohio TE Sam Hamilton Locks In with WVU Football

The WVU football staff secured its first commitment for their 2026 recruiting class on Saturday. Ohio tight end Sam Hamilton announced his decision to become a Mountaineer on social media.
Hamilton’s commitment comes after spending time on campus for Junior Day. After being initially offered by Neal Brown’s staff, Hamilton was re-offered by West Virginia tight ends coach Michael Nysewander in January.

Nysewander then visited Hamilton at his home on Jan. 21 to schedule his trip to Morgantown.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Archbishop Moeller product out of Cincinnati also held offers from Power Four programs like Duke, Houston, Kentucky and Washington among others. In 2024, he caught 22 passes for 272 yards and scored five touchdowns while also earning All-Conference honors. He’s a complete player with an elite blocking ability.
Hamilton is rated as a three-star recruit and the No. 44 tight end in his class by 247 Sports.
