2027 Ohio WR Earned Offer After Standing Out at WVU Football Camp

Wide receiver prospect Trey Haddad stood out so much at the WVU football elite camp over the weekend that he earned an official offer from the Mountaineers.

Haddad, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete from Ohio, was put to the test against many top players from around the region, but left the camp with a big endorsement from the West Virginia staff.

Haddad revealed his offer with a post on social media on Sunday, saying he was told about the opportunity after a “great” conversation with WVU wide receivers coach Ryan Garrett.

He even summarized what Garrett said to him to WV Sports Now. “I camped very well and they were impressed with my ball skills and route running,” said Haddad about what he heard from Garrett and other coaches while at the camp.

Haddad also noted being impressed with WVU’s facilities and everything the Mountaineer players have at their disposal.

A product of St. Ignatius High School near the Cleveland area, Haddad will be in the 2027 recruiting class. Haddad led his team in both receptions and receiving yards as a sophomore in 2024.

West Virginia marks Haddad’s first Division I offer, but he’s also received interest from Buffalo and even WVU’s Big 12 foe Cincinnati. He’s also on his school’s track team, giving him the distinction as a dual-sport athlete.
