WVU Football Documents Hudson Clement’s Memorable 2023 Season
Before Hudson Clement became a household name to WVU fans, he was a West Virginia native trying to live out his dream to be a Mountaineer as a walk-on.
On Friday evening, the WVU football program released a video documenting Clement’s journey. This video includes interviews with his parents and some new information about before and after his monster game against Duquesne earned him a full scholarship.

Clement finished the season with 22 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns. He earned a scholarship for his work in West Virginia’s second game of the season, exploding for 177 yards and three scores against Duquesne. Clement also made five receptions for 89 yards in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl victory over North Carolina.
The Martinsburg product won’t be able to surprise anyone moving forward. WVU fans and opposing teams are now well aware of Clement. He’s even earned some high praise from the national media.
WVU WR Hudson Clement Earns More Recognition with PFF Grade for 2023 Season
With several more years of eligibility remaining and now a place on the West Virginia roster secured, there’s no telling what type of season Clement could have in 2024 as an encore, although it will be tough to beat 2023 in terms of being memorable.
Clement’s little brother even committed to join Hudson as a Mountaineer last month.
