“Officially in the portal, grad transfer, can play all special teams,” posted Horton on X (Twitter) at the time of his West Virginia exit. He will be a grad transfer with one year left of eligibility.
Horton, who signed with WVU in May last year after spending three seasons with Marshall, will now play outside of the state for the first time in his college career. He ended up staying in West Virginia after initially committing to Colorado early in the offseason.
After recording 186 receiving yards on 12 catches in 12 games for the Thundering Herd in 2023, Horton caught just 10 balls for 201 yards and scored a touchdown as a Mountaineer.
