Armani Guzman to Return to WVU Baseball: ‘I’m Back’

In the midst of sending more players to MLB, the WVU baseball program was able to retain a key piece for next season as well. Armani Guzman will be back in West Virginia for one more year, announcing his return on Sunday.

With simple Michael Jordan-like “I’m back” message, Guzman posted a graphic and a clip to inform Mountaineer Nation of his return.

Guzman became a star in 2026, helping West Virginia reach the school’s first-ever trip to the College World Series. He hit one home run, drove in 45 runs and registered a slash line of .321/.419/.444 while also breaking WVU’s single-season record for stolen bases with 42.

Guzman has 69 stolen bases and a cumulative .308 batting average in three seasons as a Mountaineer.
