Big 12 Releases 2020-21 Women’s Basketball Conference Schedule

West Virginia women’s basketball will open Big 12 play on Dec. 10 at home against Baylor the conference announced Monday.

The Big 12 released the 18-game conference schedule Monday, finally providing some clarity for the 2020-21 women’s hoops schedule. WVU will open at home against Baylor before hitting the road for a three-game road trip against Oklahoma State, Kansas and Kansas State from Dec. 18 through Jan. 5.

The team will play two games a week for the bulk of the schedule, with most weekend games on Saturday and most weekday games on Wednesday.

WVU’s full Big 12 schedule is:

  • Dec. 10 vs Baylor
  • Dec. 18 at Oklahoma State
  • Jan. 2 at Kansas
  • Jan. 5 at Kansas State
  • Jan. 9 vs Texas
  • Jan. 13 vs Texas Tech
  • Jan. 16 at Oklahoma
  • Jan. 20 vs Kansas State
  • Jan. 23 vs Oklahoma State
  • Jan. 27 at Texas Tech
  • Jan. 30 at TCU
  • Feb. 3 vs Iowa State
  • Feb. 6 at Texas
  • Feb. 10 vs Kansas
  • Feb. 14 vs Oklahoma
  • Feb. 17 at Baylor
  • Feb. 20 vs TCU
  • Feb. 24 at Iowa State

West Virginia finished the 2019-20 season with a 17-12 record, 7-11 in the Big 12. The Mountaineers lost seven of their final 10 games and would have played Texas in the first round of the Big 12 Championship.

WVU was picked to finish fifth in the 2020-21 Big 12 preseason poll. Senior guard Kysre Gondrezick and junior forward Kari Niblack were both named honorable mentions on the All-Big 12 Preseason Team.
