Cornerback Matt Marshall Excited About Visiting West Virginia This Weekend

Although West Virginia football is finished for this season, it’ll be a big football weekend in Morgantown as the Mountaineer coaches will be hosting seniors on official visits and will also have Junior Day.

One of the many recruits coming to town will be junior 3-star cornerback Matt Marshall from William Penn Charter in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Marshall currently has been offered by West Virginia, Baylor, Boston College, Indiana, NC State and Buffalo.

WV Sports Now caught up this morning with Marshall who’s excited to make his first trip to West Virginia.

“I’m looking forward to having a great trip,” Marshall tells WV Sports Now. “ I really want to see the facilities and also meet and talk with the players and all the coaches. I’m also looking forward to a tour of the campus and get used to it to see if it’s a place I can see myself going to.”

”Coach Scott has been my main recruiter and likes how physical and aggressive I play and also likes my speed.”

This will be the first of many recruiting trips that Marshall plans on making and plans on enjoying everyone of them because he realizes this is a special time in his life.

”This is all a dream come true,” said Marshall. “Since I was 5 years old, I’ve been dreaming about playing college football. I used to watch every single game on Saturday when college football was on.”

”I’m always has dreams about this and eventually playing in the NFL. Just thinking about all of this is getting me emotional. My dad always pushed me about playing football, working hard and making sure my grades were where they need to be so that I had this opportunity.”

No other visits are scheduled at this time but Marshall says that the schools in the most contact with him right now are Michigan State, Temple, Rutgers and Virginia Tech.
