Former WVU defensive lineman Darius Stills has joined Fairmont State Football as an assistant defensive line coach and recruiting analyst, he announced on X Friday.

Stills played 43 games with 21 starts as a Mountaineer across four years. The 2020 graduate racked up 85 tackles, 11.5 sacks and one interception at WVU.

In his final season as a Mountaineer, Stills was named a consensus All-American. He was awarded the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year while making the All-Big 12 First Team as voted by coaches and the Associated Press.

After WVU, Stills went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. After being released in August of 2021, he signed a reserve/futures contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in January 2022. He was released in the following March.

Stills’ professional career included stints with the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL, the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League and the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.

Stills played at Fairmont Senior High School, where he was a three-year starter and a two-time First-Team AA All-State selection. He finished with 191 career tackles with 44 for loss.

Fairmont State finished with a 7-4 record last season with a 6-3 mark in the Mountain East Conference, good for a third-place conference finish. Charleston and Glenville State finished ahead of the Falcons.

FSU had the sixth-best scoring defense in the MEC last year, allowing 31.9 points per game. The Falcons also gave up 423.3 yards per game while tallying just 11 sacks in 10 games played.

The Falcons’ 2025 schedule will begin at 7 p.m. on August. 28 when they take on Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Stills’ younger brother, Dante Stills, has carved out a consistent role with the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL as a defensive tackle. In two years with the Cardinals, Dante Stills has 89 tackles and eight sacks.
