Mountaineers in the Pros
Darius Stills Continues Professional Journey, Joining CFL’s Montreal Alouettes

Former Mountaineer Darius Stills’ professional journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s continuing on and now moving up north to Canada.
Stills has signed with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes, joining a 2-3 team in the middle of the season. This is a big opportunity for Stills, who was most recently a member of the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League.

Stills played in the USFL last season with the Birmingham Stallions. Prior to jumping from league to league, Stills failed to find success in the NFL after completing a stellar college career at WVU.
An injury led to his release by the Raiders, the franchise he signed with after not being drafted. Stills then signed a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, but that did not stick either.
Even as his career was uncertain, Stills mentored his younger brother Dante and helped him progress towards an NFL opportunity of his own. Dante was drafted in the 7th round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. Darius also welcomed the birth of his daughter a few months ago.

Stills, a Fairmont, W.Va native, played four seasons at West Virginia, collecting 23 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in 30 career games for the Mountaineers.
