Eagles Waive Former Mountaineer Receiver Shelton Gibson

Published

on

Earlier today, former West Virginia wide receiver Shelton Gibson was waived by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Gibson has been battling injuries recently, preventing him to find a spot in the rotation at receiver position.

In his short two year stint with the Eagles, he only recorded three receptions for 59 yards and appeared in 20 games, mainly used on special teams. He was, however, a member of the Eagles Super Bowl championship team two years ago.

If Gibson clears waivers and is not claimed by another team, he has the opportunity to return to the Eagles’ injured reserve list.
