Former App. State Commit Armoni Weaver Commits to WVU

West Virginia’s fourth commit of Sunday, Armoni Weaver announced his decision on social media. He also becomes the second player to follow WVU cornerbacks coach Rod West to Morgantown.
Just like one of his teammates at Westside Academy in Anderson, S.C., Weaver, a 5-foot-10 and 180-pound three-star, initially committed to Appalachian State but flipped his commitment to WVU and West after visiting West Virginia.

Weaver re-opened his recruitment on Dec. 3 and received a WVU offer on Jan. 5.
While he played both offense and defense in high school, West Virginia is planning to make Weaver a slot receiver. He made 26 receptions for 541 yards and scored seven touchdowns in 2024.
