West Virginia took a recruiting hit on Sunday when four-star Brooklyn running back Lamy Constant reopened his recruitment.

“Thank you for the love,” Constant wrote. “Unfortunately there was miscommunication and a misunderstanding on both my part and the coaches. I think them for their interest and the WV fans for their love.”

Constant verbally committed to West Virginia on Nov. 12.

Constant had an extensive offer list prior to his verbal commitment. He has power five offers from Baylor, Boston College, Duke, Florida, Illinois, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wake Forest.

Constant’s final four schools were Texas A&M, Michigan State, LSU and WVU. Last night LSU won the SEC Championship 37-10 over Georgia.
