Gabe Osabuohien Gives Back to WV Kids with School Supplies

Gabe Osabuohien, former WVU forward, is giving away school supplies to the kids in the state of West Virginia. Osabuohien constructed a back-to-school giveaway for kids that are in need of supplies.

Osabuohien will be in Morgantown at Kegler’s on Sunday afternoon.

“I recall moments I lacked essential school supplies,” Osabuohien wrote on social media. “I’m driven to assist both my fellow Mountaineer families and those who are less fortunate!! Happy to announce my first annual Gabe’s Back to School giveaway! Will be giving away backpacks and bags with school supplies.”

Osabuohien has given supplies away in Saint Albans and Clarksburg areas so far and will head to Grafton on Tuesday.

Osabuohien appeared in 41 games for the Cleveland Charge, the NBA G-League affiliate for the Cavaliers. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 2.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals during his rookie season.

Osabuohien spent three seasons at West Virginia after transferring from Arkansas in 2019. The fifth-year senior appeared in 87 games from 2019-22, averaging 3.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks. Osabuohien won a share of the 2022 Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award.
