Mountaineers in the Pros
Jade Gentile Shows Off WVU Soccer Skills Inside WWE Ring
From WVU to the WWE, that’s the story of Jade Gentile. She put her soccer skills on display inside the ring on Tuesday night.
In fact, Gentile, who goes by Jazmyn Nyx with the WWE, took out Thea Hail with a move only a former soccer player could execute as well, during an episode of WWE NXT.

The WWE’s official X (Twitter) account posted video of the move and then showed Gentile standing over her latest victim to admire her work. A fan also added a GIF to perfectly capture this moment and who she is as a character.

Gentile then added “don’t mess with me, it’s simple” to send her message to any future opponents.

While she’s not the first former Mountaineer to step foot in a WWE ring, she’s on her way to making her own legacy in the world of professional wrestling/sports entertainment.
Gentile, a Baldwinsville, N.Y. native, played for the WVU women’s soccer program as a forward from 2016-2019. She was a freshman when West Virginia reached the National Championship Game in 2016.
