WVU Basketball Secures 2026 5-Star PG Miles Sadler as One of Top Recruits in Program History
Miles Sadler, one of the highest-rated recruits to ever join WVU basketball, has signed a grant-in-aid for the 2026-27 season, as announced by the program on Thursday.
Sadler is ranked as a 5-star recruit, a Top 5 point guard and a Top 25 recruit in the class of 2026 by numerous scouting services. He is the highest-rated recruit to sign with West Virginia, according to the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
Sadler is a 6-foot guard from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and currently attends Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Ariz. Last year as a junior, he averaged 16 points, five assists, four rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

“Miles is one of those players that makes everyone around him better,” WVU head coach Ross Hodge said in a statement. “He is an elite competitor that is at his best when his best is needed. Miles is also an elite person who has the character to match his basketball talents. He also has a maturity that extends past his age that sets him up for immediate success.”
Sadler announced his commitment on the CBS Sports College Basketball live stream just a few days ago on Sunday.
He highlighted the coaching staff as a reasoning for his commitment and said he is excited to grow his relationship with head coach Ross Hodge.
“Just the coaching staff, Coach Ross told me from day one that he doesn’t feel like I’m a guy who has to wait. So with the trust that he’s instilled in me from now and I feel that bond’s gonna grow stronger,” Sadler said on the live stream.
Sadler also spoke on how “family-oriented” WVU’s culture was and that it fit what he was looking for.
“How family oriented. It’s a college town. One of the only big places that are all focused on college hoops. It’s just great to see that they have a family-type bond and something that I was really looking for in my recruitment process,” Sadler said.
Previously, Sadler attended Dream City Christian School in Glendale, Arizona. He played AAU basketball for Arizona Unity on the Nike EYBL circuit, where he averaged 13.8 points, 6.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds per game and a 4.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Sadler played for the Canadian National Team in the FIBA U17 World Cup last summer and averaged 13.9 points per game.
Sadler chose West Virginia over Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Oklahoma and Maryland.
Hodge and his staff hosted Sadler for an official visit on Oct. 24.
