WVU Football recruit Tristin Hughes

Looking into a neighboring talent rich state, the WVU football staff sent an offer to another four-star 2027 recruit earlier in the week.

A product of Rocky River High School in Ohio, Tristin Hughes revealed his latest offer on social media, adding it to his growing list. West Virginia decided to offer Hughes despite his September commitment to Syracuse.

In addition to WVU and Syracuse, Hughes has recent offers from Arizona State, Kentucky and Wisconsin, and that’s just since the start of 2026. Maryland, Michigan State Purdue and several Group of 5 level schools have also offered Hughes.

Coming off monster production in 2025 – he recorded 1,338 receiving yards, 1,900 all-purpose yards, scored 28 total touchdowns and made 67 tackles with three interceptions on defense, Hughes, listed at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, is expected to play safety in college.

He’s ranked as one of the top 15 players in Ohio and top 25 true athletes by 247 Sports.
