Knicks G Miles McBride to Miss Rest of Regular Season

With the New York Knicks on fire and serious contenders to come out of the Eastern Conference, Miles McBride will have to watch his team play without him for the foreseeable future.

McBride will undergo sports hernia surgery, as has been reported by multiple national outlets. He is expected to be out throughout the rest of the regular season with ย hope of returning for the playoffs.

McBride, 25, has averages of 12.9 points, 2.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game in 35 games. He’s averaging just over 28 minutes per night.

Last year, McBride averaged 9.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in 64 games played. In the postseason, he had 5.8 points per game.

McBride has become a key piece for the Knicks, having played 24.9 minutes per game while averaging 9.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds during the 2024-25 campaign. He helped the Knicks advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost in six games to the Indiana Pacers.

In December 2023, McBride signed a $13 million extension with the Knicks over the next three years. The Knicks traded away several players throughout the season, allowing McBride to pick up more minutes in the rotation.

McBride played two seasons at West Virginia from 2019-21, leading the Mountaineers to an NCAA Tournament appearance during his sophomore year. McBride averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game at WVU.
