Just 10 days after being selected in the second round by the New York Knicks, former WVU guard Miles “Deuce” McBride made his NBA Summer League debut on Sunday afternoon against the Toronto Raptors.

The Raptors defeated the Knicks, 89-79, but McBride impressed Knick fans who were watching him for the first time. McBride finished his debut with nine points on 3-of-8 shooting, five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 26 minutes of action.

It did not take long for the former Mountaineer to get going, as McBride pulled up from 20 feet to sink in his first basket early in the first quarter.

On Friday night, McBride signed his rookie contract with the Knicks. The details of McBride’s contract have not been released yet.

“It’s official. I love it,” McBride said. “Now I just go out and play basketball. Do what I do best.”

McBride will continue his early beginnings of his NBA journey on Wednesday night when the Knicks take on the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. on ESPN2.
