Odds Show WVU Baseball as Slight Favorite to Win Morgantown Regional
Even though WVU baseball is preparing to host the NCAA Regional Round in Morgantown, that doesn’t automatically guarantee advancing.
Now the morning after learning the rest of the bracket in the Morgantown Regional, oddsmakers have West Virginia as a slight favorite to win the region. DraftKings has WVU at -105 to claim another regional title. And then from that point on, DraftKings have the Mountaineers at +425 to get to the program’s first College World Series.
BetMGM also has West Virginia at -105 to win the region and FanDuel has their odds at +5500 to win multiple regions.
No. 16 overall seed West Virginia will welcome Wake Forest (the No. 2 seed in the bracket), Kentucky and Binghamton as the makeup of the rest of the regional field at Kendrick Family Ballpark. WVU will open up play against Binghamton on Friday with the first pitch set for 5 p.m. ET.
Despite finishing as both the regular season and Big 12 Tournament runner-up, Steve Sabinsโ 2026 WVU baseball team accomplished one of their main goals. They have been awarded the right to host the NCAA Regional Round in Morgantown.
Serving as host for the second time in the modern format (2019), West Virginia will play their regional games at Kendrick Family Ballpark with a spot in the Super Regional on the line.
The Mountaineers entered the postseason at 39-14 and currently ranked No. 9 nationally.
WVU baseball hosting comes after the womenโs basketball program hosted the opening regional of the Womenโs NCAA Tournament, eventually falling to Kentucky in the second game.
Note: WVU also served as host of the District III Championship (a best-of-three series against Wake Forest) in 1955.
