Former Mountaineer Miles “Deuce” McBride will remain on the New York Knicks roster for at least one more season, according to a report on Twitter Wednesday afternoon by Tommy Beer.

This means the Knicks picked up the $1.8 million their team option for the 2023-24 season.

McBride logged more than 15 minutes in 25 games for the Knicks in two seasons since leaving WVU. In total, he has seen playing time in 104 games over those two years with a large jump in appearances during his second season, appearing in 40 more matchups.

Despite appearing in numerous games, McBride’s playing time has been limited. Deuce averaged 3.5 points, 0.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 10.9 minutes per game.

McBride was drafted by the Knicks with the 36th pick (second round) of the 2021 draft. Since then, he has been shifted between the NBA and the Knicks’ G-League team.

This news comes after McBride’s former teammate Jevon Carter declined his player option with the Milwaukee Bucks, marking the first time Carter will be a free agent in his professional career.
