In the midst of a season, Miles “Deuce” McBride has established himself as a contributing NBA player, Tuesday night was another highlight in his young career.

McBride scored 18 points in New York’s win over Portland, achieving a new NBA single game best for the former Mountaineer. The West Virginia product also recorded one rebound, three assists and one steal off the bench for the Knicks.

McBride has become a key member of New York’s second unit throughout the 2022-2023 season. He’s helped the Knicks stay in playoff contention, doing it both as an occasional scorer and with the hustle that made WVU fans fall in love with during his college career in Morgantown.

Knicks teammate Josh Hart offered some major praise for McBride after the game. “He’s been giving us good minutes on this road trip; tonight was just an example of how hard he’s been working…We’re just happy for him,” said Hart.

New York currently sits as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 41-30 record.

In his first true season getting legit NBA minutes, McBride is posting 3.5 points and 1.1 assists per game in an average of 12:02 minutes in 56 games so far.
