Running Back Jahiem White Becomes WVU’s First Commitment For Class of 2023

The term love at first site seems a fitting way to describe the relationship between Jaheim White and West Virginia.

From the minute West Virginia showed interest and White set foot on West Virgnia’s campus, he fell in love with the Mountaineers program and was viewed as a heavy lean.

That feeling on White’s interest in WVU turned accurate this afternoon when he gave them a commitment and becomes the first member of their Class of 2023.

White (5-foot-9, 187 pounds) is from William Penn Senior High School in York, Pennsylvania and Chad Scott was his chief recruiter. White finished this past season rushing for 2,128 yards and 31 touchdowns.

The relationship with West Virginia began when White attended a prospects camp in June and impressed them with his individual workout. Although he hadn’t received an offer from WVU yet, the two sides remained in contact throughout the season as White made multiple visits to Morgantown.

In early November, White received the news that he had been waiting for when he finally received the offer from West Virginia, his first Power Five offer. Things became official in the last 24 hours when White attended the programs Junior Day and gave Brown the news that he wanted to commit. White made that news official today as he announced his commitment.
