2024 top-30 prospect Naas Cunningham is set to officially visit West Virginia this weekend, a source tells WV Sports Now. Cunningham will be in town for the football edition of the Backyard Brawl against Pitt on Saturday. Current WVU G Jose Perez will serve as Cunningham’s player host.

West Virginia offered Cunningham over the weekend in California as staff was in-person.

Cunningham is currently a four-star recruit in all of the recruiting databases but once was No. 1 in his class back in 2022. Cunningham has received offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Bryant, UConn, Creighton, DePaul, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, LSU, Maryland, Memphis, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Rutgers, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Texas Tech, UCLA and others. Cunningham has visited Memphis and Rutgers so far.

Cunningham played for Overtime Elite this past season, averaging 14.4 points, 2.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals in 30.2 minutes. Overtime Elite has emerged as one of the best developing programs in the country. Ausar Thompson (Pistons) and Amen Thompson (Rockets) both recently were drafted in the top five of the NBA draft.

West Virginia recently offered 2024 prospects Carmelo Adkins (CG) and Jinup Dobuol (F) as well last weekend. WVU assistant Jordan McCabe extended both offers and is finalizing an official visit for Adkins and Dobuol.

West Virginia’s staff under interim HC Josh Eilert currently has zero commitments for the class of 2024. As the staff is only guaranteed this upcoming season, they’re recruiting like they’re here to stay.

WV Sports Now will keep you up to date on Naas Cunningham’s recruitment.
