The State of WVU Football Recruiting in 2021 (So Far)

With the conclusion of spring football practice, Neal Brown and his assistants focus is now on putting together pieces for their Class of 2022.

As we’ve been showing you in our Recruiting Notebook, the Mountaineer staff is busy extending offers to recruits all across the country. With so many offers going out, we wanted to give you a look at the big (recruiting) picture.

Which positions are West Virginia looking at the most? Which states are getting the most offers? How many different states are they recruiting in? What level of recruit is the coaching staff going after?

We answer all of these questions as we go in-depth looking at West Virginia and the Class of 2022.

First off, let’s take a look at the various positions they have offered.

In the just concluded 2021 NFL Draft, the three states with the most draft picks from were Florida, Georgia and Texas. Rounding out the top five are the states of California and Louisiana. As we look at the states with the most offers from the Mountaineers, Neal Brown is heavily recruiting a couple of these states. In all, WVU coaches have offered players in 34 different states.

We also wanted to highlight the star ratings of players that the coaching staff is attempting to recruit. These are the current star ratings as evaluated by the scouts at Rivals.com.
