Even in the midst of focusing so much on the transfer portal, the WVU football staff always has an eye on high school recruiting as well. And on Wednesday, West Virginia sent an offer to a quarterback who could be part of their next 2027 class.

The Mountaineers offered Brice McCurdy, a three-star signal caller from Texas, to enter a recruiting battle that already includes several Big 12 schools.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, McCurdy also has offers from Cincinnati, Houston, Kansas, Ole Miss, Syracuse, TCU, Texas Tech, UCF, SMU, North Texas, UTSA and Tulane.

He’s rated as a top 100 overall prospect for his class in Texas and a top 50 at there position.
