As WVU basketball prepares to transition into Big 12 play at the start of the new year, they have pressure to win enough to make a case for the NCAA Tournament.

However, West Virginia’s recent struggles against major conference opponents warrants concern about how Ross Hodge’s team will handle Big 12 competition.

So with WVU sitting at 9-4 and at No. 68 in KenPom, how many wins are you expecting from the Mountaineers from now until the end of the regular season?

West Virginia will tip-off conference play on Jan. 2 against Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum. They will play a total of 18 Big 12 games, with nine at home at the Hope Coliseum and nine on the road.

i see wvu win no more than 6 games,, we just don’t have the talent yet, and what we have , hasn’t jelled as a team, and hoss is a huge drawback for lack of experience coaching atthis level,, and being a head coach at this level; we have made a huge mistake in this hire, and very likely the hiring of rrod but that was who the donors insisted on,, and it hasn’t worked so far, and right now , the mice are leaving the sinking ship in droves,,,,i like bicknel being fired, he’s use to that, and running back coach looks good on paper, he’s got a ton of experience,, now we will get a chance to see if he can recruit.

WVU could have 3 more wins with alittle luck and making free throws. They are a good team and should make the NCAA tournament
