With his college career behind him, WVU safety Kekoura Tarnue has turned his attention to pursuing a professional career. Tarnue recently announced he’s entering his name for several major drafts.

He posted a long message on social media to both declare his availability for the NFL, CFL and UFL while also thanking his coaches from his time at West Virginia and Jacksonville State.

โ€œFirst and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to play the game I love. Every step Iโ€™ve taken, every challenge Iโ€™ve overcome, and every victory Iโ€™ve achieved has been through his grace. Without his guidance, I wouldnโ€™t be where Iโ€™m at today.

โ€œTo my family, thank you for everything. Youโ€™ve been my rock from the beginning. Youโ€™ve been my rock from the beginning. “To my teammates, thank you for the brotherhood weโ€™ve built. The bond we share on and off the field is something Iโ€™ll carry with me forever. To my coaches, thank you for your guidance, discipline, and belief in me. Youโ€™ve taught me more than just football; youโ€™ve taught me life lessons that Iโ€™ll carry with me forever.

โ€œI have to take a moment to reflect on my time at West Virginia and Jacksonville State. My experience at both schools has been unforgettable. Thanks Coach Rich Rod and Coach Neal Brown for giving me the opportunity to play this game at a high level. Jacksonville State became my first home. The transition to JSU was a pivotal point in my career, and I am grateful for the opportunity to play under coaches who believed in me and a program that gave me the chance to grow. West Virginia gave me the chance to compete at the highest level and truly test my limits. The pride of wearing the Mountaineer jersey and representing a passionate fanbase was something Iโ€™ll never forget. I am declaring for the 2026 NFL, CFL and UFL Draft.โ€

In his final season as a Mountaineer in 2025, Tarnue, who transferred to WVU ahead of the 2024 season, recorded 40 total tackles with 25 as solo stops, four tackles for a loss and a forced fumble.

Prior to his time at West Virginia, Tarnue played for current WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez at Jacksonville State in 2023. He posted 48 total tackles, picked off three passes and has four pass breakups.
