Recently, the West Virginia coaching staff extended an offer to class of 2021 linebacker Avery Dunn of Shaker Heights high school in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Mountaineers became his second power five offer, but don’t expect it to be his last. Dunn’s stock is continuing to rise and for West Virginia’s sake, they are establishing their relationship at the perfect time.

When asked about his thoughts on the offer he responded, “It was really amazing, especially being there at West Virginia for the game and experiencing the electric stadium was really awesome!” Dunn was in town for the game against Iowa State on October 12th and noted that he hopes to return for his official visit in December. “I love the whole atmosphere around West Virginia football, it feels undeniable,” Dunn said. “I really like how they are all in and are striving to win a championship within the next few years and aren’t settling for anything less,” he added.

West Virginia linebackers coach Blake Seiler offered Dunn the day following the loss to Iowa State and has been keeping a close eye on him for some time. Dunn mentioned that he loves coach Seiler’s mentality and passion to win a championship.

Dunn also holds offers from Michigan State, Toledo, Ball State, Akron and a few others.
