A transfer cornerback is following a new WVU coach to West Virginia. Appalachian State transfer Jason Chambers has already enrolled at WVU and is in Morgantown with cornerbacks coach Rod West.

Chambers (6-foot and 195-pounds), who entered the transfer portal on Dec. 27, spent the 2024 season working under West at Appalachian State. He appeared in 11 games and recorded 38 total tackles while deflecting a couple passes and making one interception.

Prior to his lone season at App. State, Chambers, a Charlotte, N.C. native, was at North Carolina Central for two years. In 2023, Chambers was a first-team HBCU all-American and posted 41 tackles, six pass breakups, three interceptions and forced a fumble.

He has one year remaining of eligibility.
