Watch: Javon Small Makes Acrobatic Layup to Give WVU The Lead

MORGANTOWN — WVU basketball fought through an early scoring slump to take the lead against No. 2 Iowa State on a fastbreak layup by Javon Small just ahead of halftime.
With 1:51 left in the first half, Small got a steal and ran the court, hitting an acrobatic layup around an ISU defender to give the Mountaineers a 22-21 lead.

It capped off a quick seven-point scoring run but the Mountaineers, who were just 1-10 from the floor prior to Amani Hansberry’s three-pointer to start the run.
West Virginia maintained its slight lead and holds a 25-24 advantage over Iowa State at halftime.
