Watch: WVU Basketball Hype Video Excites Fans Ahead of 2024-25 Season
Fans now have even more reason to be excited about one of the most anticipated WVU basketball seasons in recent memory. On the eve of the 2024-25 season opener, the West Virginia men’s basketball program posted a hype video across its social media channels that will make every member of Mountaineer Nation ready to run through a wall.
Narrated by former Mountaineer and current New York Knicks guard Miles “Deuce” McBride, this hype video features a montage of images that connect the program’s past with its present. But the feature shots include new head coach Darian DeVries, his players and even the late WVU legend Jerry West, who will be honored throughout the season.

WVU will officially open the DeVries era on Monday night against Robert Morris, their neighbors to the north in the Pittsburgh area. Tip-off from the WVU Coliseum is set for 7 pm ET and the game will air on ESPN+ for those who can’t be in attendance.
Both West Virginia (9-23, 4-14 Big 12) and Robert Morris (10-22, 6-14 Horizon) are hoping for better results this season after disappointing campaigns in 2023-24.
