West Virginia Basketball Enters Critical Matchup with TCU as Surprise Favorite
In a somewhat surprising turn of events, oddsmakers have the struggling Mountaineers as the favorite heading into their conference game against TCU tonight.
According to BetMGM and other sports books, West Virginia is favored by 2.5 points over the Horned Frogs. While this game is home at the Coliseum, some might be confused by these odds since WVU is in the midst of a five-game losing streak and winless in Big 12 play. Conversely, TCU is ranked at number 14 in the country.

**note: WVU is 0-5 and TCU is No. 14 in the country. This league is ridiculous

WVU head coach Bob Huggins even said he believes this season’s TCU team to be the best Jamie Dixon has had since taking over as head coach in 2016. Vegas usually knows, but are these odds relying on West Virginia being due? They could also be thinking that TCU has lost two out of their last three despite a top 15 ranking.

The Horned Frogs did win their last game, a significant 82-68 victory over number 11 Kansas State. WVU did get closer to a win in their last game, losing by just one point 77-76 to Oklahoma.
A loss for WVU would drop the Mountaineers to a devastating 0-6 in the Big 12 standings, a hole that could be impossible to climb out of. TCU currently sits at 3-2 in the conference and certainly doesn’t want to fall to a .500 record themselves.
No matter the odds or what anyone says, one thing is for certain about this game for West Virginia – they have to secure a win.
