Tuesday evening, class of 2021 offensive lineman Aaron Gunn (6’3″ 285 lbs) of New Castle, PA learned that he had gained his second Power Five offer from West Virginia joining Kentucky.

Gunn talked about his thoughts on the offer,”I knew how heavy they recruited the area and they came to the school earlier in the week, so I was not that surprised, but to receive an offer from a school like WVU I was still excited.”

The lead recruiter in Gunn’s recruitment is offensive line coach Matt Moore and although they haven’t had much time to develop a relationship he referred to coach Moore as “a great coach and person” following their conversation over the phone. A visit date has not yet been set, but is in the works, potentially in a couple of weeks Gunn informed DubVNation.

When asked what his overall perception of WVU football was he replied, “WVU football has a great history and plays in a great conference and they also have one of the best fan bases in the country.” Gunn also told DubVNation that he has two cousins that attended West Virginia; Greg and Vertus Jones who both wrestled for the Mountaineers. “As soon as I told them they were excited, they have a lot of love for WVU.” The family connection is another reason he has West Virginia high on his list of interests.

Stay tuned to DubVNaton for the latest on Gunn’s recruitment.
