While recruiting is still important for a program, the transfer portal now allows schools to build back up even quicker. West Virginia makes another offer to a player in the portal, this one to a wide receiver.

Tyrese Chambers announced he received an offer from WVU on Wednesday afternoon. A Baltimore, Maryland native, Chambers spent his undergraduate years at Florida International University. Chambers made public his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Nov. 29, just a day before WVU extended an offer.

His career at FIU will go down as the most prolific in school history. Chambers set records in receiving yards and touchdowns in a season in 2021. His production did dip to only posting 544 yards this season despite catching 6 more balls than the prior year.

Chambers’ big play ability will likely garner attention from several other Power 5 programs. In addition to the Mountaineers, Chambers also tweeted about offers from Arizona State, Louisville, Georgia Southern, Marshall, Middle Tennessee State and Western Kentucky.

The only concern for Chambers about WVU would be fitting into a wide receiver group that could bring most of its core back and is set to include several solid recruits.
