West Virginia Football Schedules 2024 3-Star Edge Javon Hammonds for Official Visit

West Virginia’s strong pursuit of class of 2024 three-star Edge rusher recruit Javon Hammonds moves to its next step.
Hammonds tweeted late Monday night that he is now booked for his official visit to WVU. He will be in Morgantown on June 10. This news comes only two weeks after the Mountaineers extended an offer to the Dayton, Ohio native.

WVSN then followed up with Hammonds a few days later, getting the Wayne High School product to open up about his recruitment and what he believes caused WVU to go from a recruiting flirtation to sending him an offer.
2024 3-Star Edge Javon Hammonds: ‘WVU Said No One Compares to Me’
“They were all telling me to be patient in the being, but as the weeks went on, Coach Lesley gave me a call and said he’s be rewatching my film and none of the guys compare to me so they don’t want to waste any more time,” said Hammonds.
WVU is in the mix with several other major programs, including one arch rival, for Hammonds. Just five days ago, Pitt extended an offer of their own to the Edge rusher.
Hammonds also visited WVU towards the end of January. In addition to West Virginia and Pitt, schools like Akron, Indiana, Kent State, Purdue, Western Michigan, Toledo and Miami (OH) have all offered Hammonds. Cincinnati and Kentucky expressed interest in him as well. He’s even visited Ohio State.
