Rhode Island Transfer DB Receives Offer from Mountaineers

West Virginia is out searching for a transfer defensive back. The Mountaineers sent an offer to Rhode Island transfer Antonio Carter Tuesday morning.

Carter, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, has two years left of college eligibility after entering the portal as a grad transfer. He also received offers from Baylor, Kentucky, Louisville and Virginia.
The Florida native made 10 starts in 2021 after starting his college career with a redshirt year. He recorded 52 tackles, one sack, seven pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. In 2022, Carted started all 11 games and accumulated 60 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, one interception, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 11 pass deflections.
WVU recently earned a commitment from Minnesota transfer defensive back Beanie Bishop and has been offering several other players like the highly coveted Anthony Wilson out of Georgia Southern to improve the secondary with experience for the 2023 season.
