Mountaineers Offer St. Louis Receiver

West Virginia dipped back into the “Show-me State” over the weekend and offered Demetrius Cannon out on Trinity Catholic high school in St. Louis, Missouri.

The 6-3 210-lb wide receiver has several power-five school offers outside of WVU and has no frontrunners at the moment stating, “I look at all my offers as possible places to go as of right now.”

  • Missouri
  • Purdue
  • Tennessee
  • Vanderbilt
  • Toledo

Cannon tries to mold his game after current Alabama receiver Jerry Jeudy and former Tide superstar Julio Jones and it shows with his play on the field. His big frame gives his quarterback a big target downfield and uses it to his advantage by blocking out the defender to get to the ball. He creates space with his route running ability and his speed. Demetrius also can catch the ball in traffic and is willing to block downfield.

Although he doesn’t have a scheduled visit, Cannon says he’s talking to his parents about possibly making it to a game but if he’s unable to make one, he will be in Morgantown after the season.
