WVU Baseball INF/RHP commit JT Huether

The WVU baseball program received another commitment, this one from a corner infielder and pitcher.

JT Huether announced his commitment on X (Twitter) on Saturday. “So proud to announce my Commitment to West Virginia for my next 4 years! Thank you to everyone who has pushed me to who I am today. I really thank each and every coach, family member, and teammate for always pushing me. Go Mountaineers!!,” said Huether.

A class of 2025 product, Huether, listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, attends Canterbury High School in Fort Meyers, Fla. He’s on the College Baseball United team.

Below is what Perfect Game has to say about Huether:

“Primary position IF, covering ground with long strides and using his long levers to his advantage. Working through his reps methodically with solid glove work and making plays with consistency. Full arm path building throws up to 85 mph across the diamond. Reps in the OF too, getting to the ball with good footwork and working the glove with one hand to the side. Fluid transfer and very accurate feeds back to the infield with 83 mph throws here. Solid fundamentals overall.

RHH working from an upright stance with an inwardly turned front foot. High handset working quickly to get on plane and incorporates the lower half well. Get full turn and attacks the ball with an oppo gap approach. Would occasionally leave the barrel behind him but when on time and letting the hands loose the ball jumped from the barrel. Strong athlete coming into his own right now and a good follow in the short-term. Very good student as well.”
